The Jets didn’t get to see much of Drake Maye when he was a rookie quarterback.
When they faced the Patriots in Week 3 last year, Maye made his NFL debut coming off the bench in mop-up duty late in the fourth quarter of the Jets’ 24-3 win at MetLife Stadium. He completed 4 of 8 passes for 22 yards.
About a month later, in Week 8, he started against the Jets and ran for a touchdown early on but was knocked out of the game with a concussion before halftime. He completed 3 of 6 passes for 23 yards before backup Jacoby Brissett led the Patriots to a 25-22 comeback win.
