Wahmhoff Farms Nursery in Gobles is gearing up for this year’s Trees for the Troops program with the loading event now scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving, December 1.
Trees for the Troops is a national program that sends free Christmas trees to military personnel serving on bases throughout the United States. In 2023, it passed the 300,000 trees mark.
Wahmhoff Farms has taken part in Trees for the Troops for years, serving as a sendoff point for trees from all over the state. It’ll welcome dignitaries, volunteers, and veterans to the loading event December 1. It’s expected to take about a half hour to load up the more than 300 trees shipping out to Hurlburt Field in Florida and Fort Rucker in Alabama.
Everyone’s invited to come and help out. The loading will start at 10 a.m.
