The New England Patriots debuted new muted blue jerseys during their Week 11 matchup against the New York Jets and early returns are pretty positive out of the gate. Of course, football fans being football fans, there were a contingent that all came to the same conclusion about the Patriots and their potential laundry habits.
New England's newest "Nor'easter" jerseys (as part of the Rivalries jersey series) are a storm blue color with white pants and a white helmet, also featuring a stylized "NE" logo on the shoulders. The jersey has a distinct lack of a red stripe that's synonymous with the Patriots at this point, fully leaning into the muted blue gray color.
We've known about these jerseys for some time now — and even we here at For The Win have rated them pretty highly! — but now, we've finally gotten to see them in game action.
While many football fans have found them quite sharp, some fans on Twitter wondered whether or not the Patriots put in too much laundry detergent and accidentally dulled their normal jerseys. And honestly, I can see where they're coming from!
