A rally outside of NYPD headquarters Thursday called on Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch to move forward with the departmental trial of Officer Wayne Isaacs — over the 2016 shooting death of Delrawn Small in Brooklyn in a road rage case.
A police trial judge has recommended the case be tossed before its scheduled start date this month. Advocates and elected officials say it’s time the officer be terminated.
“How can we face our communities and say ‘you are going to be safe in this city,’ especially in Black and Brown low-income neighborhoods, and tell them they are going to be safe if they can look at this face and know he hasn’t received justice,” Manhattan Councilman Christopher Marte said while holding a picture of Small.
