The sweeping coastal dunes west of Guadalupe are taking center stage in a new PBS feature that explores how stories, art, and community voices intersect in the small town.

The episode spotlights a unique project led by the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center in partnership with the California State Coastal Conservancy, designed to preserve and celebrate the diverse cultural heritage tied to the Guadalupe dunes.

The initiative, part of the Coastal Conservancy’s statewide Coastal Stories program, focuses on elevating the voices of local elders through multilingual videos, murals, and interpretive signage. The goal: to connect the region’s natural landscape with the experiences of the people who have called it home for generations.
