MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — A Mesa organization that provides basic necessities to foster children is raising money to build a new air-conditioned facility after operating out of an old train car for seven years.
Advocacy, Support and Assistance , known as ASA Now, has provided clothes, shoes and other supplies to more than 70,000 children during its seven years of operation. The organization currently stores donations in a train car.
The goal is to create what they’re calling “Jacob’s Giving Closet,” a permanent, climate-controlled space where children can get the essentials they need.
In April 2024, thieves broke into the trailer and stole $30,000 worth of supplies.
As demand for services continues to grow, ASA Now is seeking public donations to fund the construction of a climate-control
