Councilmember Julie Menin — who represents the Upper East Side of Manhattan and Roosevelt Island — is looking to be the next speaker of the City Council, with current Speaker Adrienne Adams term-limited.

She’s facing competition from fellow Councilmembers Amanda Farias, Crystal Hudson, Christopher Marte and Selvena Brooks-Powers.
