LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Laredo is seeing more Narcan vending machines after overdose deaths dropped sharply over two years.
According to Laredo police, the total number of overdose deaths so far in 2025 is 14, while in 2024 there were 36 and in 2023, there were 66.
This dramatic decline has prompted two new locations for Narcan dispensers, one being at the Preventive Care Clinic on McPherson. The health department also plans to install another machine at TAMIU’s tennis complex for college students.
Drug and alcohol commission members say the community-wide approach is key.
