LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. — John Skelton was just weeks away from finishing a 15-year prison sentence related to the 2010 disappearance of his three sons when he was charged for their murders on Wednesday.
According to court records, Skelton was set to be released on Nov. 29. He was serving a sentence on three charges of unlawful imprisonment after his three sons, Andrew, Alexander and Tanner, disappeared on Thanksgiving in 2010.
Now, he's been charged with three counts of homicide/open murder and three counts of felony tampering with evidence. The boys were declared dead back in March of 2025, despite never having been found.
The boys' family released the following statement in response to the new charges:
It has been fifteen long years since our three boys - Andrew, Alexander, and Tann
