TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ( WBRC ) - About 85 fourth graders spent some of their day Thursday packing Christmas boxes at the Alberta School for Performing Arts in Tuscaloosa.

It was all for the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox program started by Franklin Graham through his Samaritan’s Purse organization.

School leaders say this is the third year they’ve done this. The shoeboxes will be shipped to children all over the world.

“We’ve been creating jump ropes out of donated t-shirts. We’ve been making tic-tac-toe boards out of game pieces,” said fourth grade teacher Rachel Watson.

“I feel pretty for bad people because some people like I said they don’t really have it, so I be like really appreciative because people don’t have it and I really want them to have it,” said fourth grade student Mia
