An investigation into a fatal light plane crash south of Sydney has so far found no mechanical faults in the aircraft.
Pilot Andrew Connors, his wife Julianne Connors, and their friend Colin McLaughlin were killed when their plane crashed into the tarmac at Shellharbour Airport and caught on fire shortly after take-off.
The private charter was bound for Bathurst in the New South Wales central west on the October long weekend.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) launched an immediate review of the incident, analysing the wreckage and security footage, with its preliminary findings made public on Friday.
ATSB Chief Commissioner Angus Mitchell said the crash was witnessed by multiple people, including local Rural Fire Service crew members who were conducting a training exercise
