Michigan's independent judicial watchdog group has filed a complaint against a Detroit judge who made national headlines last year when he detained a 15-year-old girl who fell asleep in his courtroom during a school trip.
The Judicial Tenure Commission referenced both the August 2024 incident involving the teen and a February 2022 incident in which an attorney was handcuffed during a hearing in alleging that 36th District Court Judge Kenneth J. King had violated several rules in the Michigan Code of Judicial Conduct.
