AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Georgia CORE has placed unusual-looking stools at the Cork and Flame restaurant in Augusta as part of its colon cancer awareness campaign.
The campaign has made stops in other areas and uses the weird-looking stools to normalize and promote life-saving conversations about colon cancer. The goal is to spark voluntary check-ups.
Hospital breaks ground on another emergency room for North Augusta area
Aiken Regional Medical Center broke ground on a new free-standing emergency room that will provide 24-hour emergency care to North Augusta residents.
“We also want people to talk to their family about their family history and understand if they have colon cancer or any cancer in their family history so they can talk about it and be prepared for it,” said Lynn Durha
