LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - ONE Lexington is continuing preventative and responsive work to combat gun violence in Lexington.
On Thursday, ONE Lexington walked many students from the Tates Creek School campus to their homes.
“We’re always excited to see the people in the orange hoodies because we know we can go talk to them,” Tates Creek Freshman Delawen Wadley-Moorman said.
This community outreach began after two shootings in the Centre Parkway area led to the campus being placed on heightened alert.

“Our school has been on heightened alert twice and we’re just kind of upset about because this is the community that we always hang out in and around afterschool so we just want to be safe you know,” Wadley-Moorman said.
