WACO, Texas — Baylor University Athletic Director Mack Rhoades is taking a four-week leave of absence following new allegations made against him Monday, the university confirmed.

A Baylor spokesperson said the allegations do not involve Title IX, student-athlete welfare, or any NCAA rules violations. The school also emphasized that the leave is unrelated to an alleged altercation earlier this month involving Rhoades, a football player and an assistant coach.

Rhoades also stepped down from his role as chairman of the College Football Playoff committee, a move that came just one day after he appeared on ESPN to analyze the CFP’s second weekly rankings.
