Lidl has confirmed that the majority of its UK stores will shut for three days over the coming weeks. The budget supermarket chain has announced it wants to give employees an extended break, with all 980 branches closing on Christmas Day, December 25.
The majority of stores will also remain closed on Boxing Day, December 26, and New Year's Day, January 1. All Lidl outlets outside the M25 will be shut on New Year's Day, while most branches outside London and Wales will close on Boxing Day.
Shoppers can check specific store opening hours through Lidl's online store locator or via the Lidl Plus app. Lidl is among an increasing number of retailers offering workers three days off.
Aldi has revealed that all its UK outlets will be closed for three days during the festive season.
