Imphal, November 13 2025: The Enat Yokhatpa Luptin (EYOL) organized a public meeting at Bashikhong today to address the growing incorporation of extravagant and non-traditional practices in religious and cultural ceremonies, particularly weddings.

The meeting was organised in association with Bashikhong Youth Club (BYC).

The meeting deliberated on these modern additions such as lavish tent setups and decorations, cake cutting, exchanging of rings and excessive expenditures which put financial burdens on families and allegedly erode authentic traditions.

The participants of the meeting took a collective resolution to promote simple and meaningful rituals rooted in Manipur's rich cultural legacy.
