ALEXANDRIA, Va. — The Alexandria Health Department is issuing a warning to the community after a person and a dog came in contact with a rabid fox.

The incident occurred near a home in the city’s Rosemont area.

According to officials, the fox is dead, and they are working with the person and the owner of the dog on what to do next.

Nevertheless, they’re issuing a warning over an increase in the risk.
