WASHINGTON — DC police say a federal officer fired their gun after a driver fled a traffic stop in Southeast Thursday afternoon.
According to police, they pulled over a driver at the intersection of Pennsylvania and Minnesota avenues, Southeast, at 4:45 p.m.
When the driver fled, DC police and officers from the DC Safe and Beautiful Task Force chased him.
A short time later, the federal agent fired his weapon in the 3400 block of Benning Road, Northeast.
No one was injured, and the suspect was taken into custody.
According to DC police, none of their officers fired their weapons during the incident.
DC’s Internal Affairs Bureau responded to the scene to investigate the shooting.
Police say once they’ve finished their investigation, the case will be passed along to the United States
