ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police (MSP) said they are investigating after a welfare check/missing persons complaint led troopers to discover what they believe could be human remains.
Troopers responded to a residence on Lincoln Road in Otsego Township for a requested welfare check when they discovered the suspected remains Thursday afternoon, around 2:30 p.m.
The MSP Grand Rapids Lab is processing the scene and anthropologists from Western Michigan University were called in to excavate the remains, according to MSP.
MSP said an autopsy is scheduled for Friday. They said that at this time not much is known but the investigation is ongoing.
