SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - On Thursday night, a meeting was held in Sioux Falls to discuss the future of an elementary school in the Sioux Falls School District.
Parents are concerned and showed up to advocate for their children.
Renberg Elementary School in Renner might be on the chopping block, according to the Sioux Falls School District.
According to parents, the district cited low enrollment numbers and high operation costs, but parents said the school hasn’t been on a level playing field with others in the district.
According to the district website, just 155 students are enrolled at Renberg Elementary. It’s a lower number than most schools in the district, but parents said that redrawn district lines and the opening of Marcella Lebeau Elementary hurt their numbers in
