BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — A beloved vegetarian restaurant in Bridgeport broke hearts on Wednesday when it announced it will close its doors next month after 48 years in business.
Bloodroot Vegetarian Restaurant, located in the city at 85 Ferris St., posted on Facebook to inform customers and community members that it will be closing on Dec. 21.
Since 1977, the restaurant has specialized in vegetarian cooking and providing patrons with ethnic vegan courses. The business has regularly changed its menu over the years to reflect the seasons and make use of local ingredients.
