CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - Clinton’s mayor has proposed a change to the city’s Tailgate N’ Tallboys event budget.
The country music festival has been a staple in the Clinton community for four years now, but its recently come under fire for its cost and substantial amount of money lost while hosting the event.
As the festival’s contract is up for renewal, city leaders are suggesting ways to improve upon the festival and allow the city to save money or break even.
Mayor Scott Maddasion has proposed a new contract that he says will give the city full control over the budget, rather than the promoters.
“I think the biggest thing for us on the budget side of thing, is the city, we want to break even, but we want our local businesses and we want our citizens to win,” Maddasion said. “We want to
