COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - A new report by the Texas Restaurant Association shows the food industry is in crisis, with higher prices and fewer customers forcing many restaurant owners to make significant changes to their operations.

The association conducted a report that showed several aspects that impact restaurants across Texas. Texas Restaurant Association’s Chief Public Affairs Officer, Kelsey Erickson Streufert, explained that tariffs are one of the major aspects.

“Across the state of Texas, only 10% of our Texas restaurant operators reported that tariffs are not increasing their cost – in other words 90% said that tariffs are increasing their costs on one of their key purchases,” Streufert said.
