MONMOUTH, Ore. — The E.E. Wilson Wildlife Area in Monmouth is home to one of Oregon’s most unique outdoor spaces — and a newly renovated shotgun shooting range that is already drawing hunters, archers and families from across the state.

For people like Korey Cimock of Newport, public access is what matters most. She grew up hunting and brought her grandfather’s 20-gauge Beretta Silver Pigeon to the range this week. She said safety and visibility are her top priorities, and the layout at the facility makes her feel comfortable.
