The mum of a teenage girl who took her own at the age of just 13 has said the government should be "horrified" by youth suicide figures in Scotland. ‌

Ruth Moss, 54, lost her daughter Sophie to suicide in 2014. She is speaking out in support of the Record's Save Young Lives campaign - launched last week in response to a mental health crisis among kids. ‌

We told how harrowing figures show that 26 per cent of deaths among young people in Scotland are by probable suicide and that thousands of children battling poor mental health are languishing on waiting lists for support, despite our government’s promise they should be seen within 18 weeks of referral. ‌
