TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Thursday night was a night of celebration in Lakeland, Georgia, as the community held a parade and autograph signing ceremony for the Lanier County softball team, who won the A DII state title two weeks ago with their 10-7 victory over ECI.

The Lady Dawgs enjoyed the ride through downtown before spending some time with their fans, and for this program to have the support of their community, they say, it means the world.

“Everybody compliments us on how well we travel,” said first year head coach Aniston Gano, who is a Lanier County alum. “We had the biggest crowd in Columbus, and we just feel support from every direction, administration, Board of Education, coaches, fellow coaches, those that have already done it, all of our fans. We’re just truly grateful.”
