PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Phoenix mother is doing everything she can to shine light on a 5-year-old cold case involving her only son.
Dawn Jackson says she hasn’t heard much from police and fears her son’s killer will never be found since 18-year-old Josiah Brisco was shot at the front door of their family home near 107th Avenue and Broadway Road in June 2020.
“I just don’t understand why it’s been so quiet. So silent,” Jackson said in tears.
Jackson says the night it happened, she had taken an extra shift at work to help pay the bills. Brisco’s sister was upstairs when she heard the commotion.
“She heard an argument; they were having words and then she heard the gunshot,” Jackson said.
Brisco was shot in the doorway. Jackson and her three other children are desperate for closure.
