CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Men's Basketball team closes its four-game homestand to begin the season against Colgate.

Illinois defeated #11 Texas Tech in an 81-77 thriller on Tuesday night. Guards Kylan Boswell and Andrej Stojakovic combined for 45 of those points as the team needed every bit of it to hold off the Red Raiders. The Illini earned its highest-ranking win since defeating #9 Oregon last season.

The Illini are 4-0 all-time against Colgate, with the last meeting coming in December 2023, when the U of I won 74-57. Coach Brad Underwood's squad is looking to start 4-0 for the first time since the 2022-23 season, according to Illinois Athletics.
