JJ Redick replaced Darvin Ham as the Los Angeles Lakers’ head coach in 2024 and guided the team to the NBA playoffs. With a 50-32 record last season, the Lakers recorded 50 or more wins for the second time since the 2010-11 season, which was Phil Jackson’s last. However, many fans and coaches remain unconvinced with Redick’s transition from podcasting to coaching.

Recently, Minnesota Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch took a shot at Redick. On a live episode of The Zach Lowe Show, the Wolves coach talked about the rise of sports podcasts in recent times. He also threw shade at Redick, who hosted his own NBA podcast prior to the Lakers’ job.

“I mean, it’ll qualify you to coach the Lakers,” Finch said while talking about a sports podcasting job.
