The Newcastle Jets will welcome club legend Tara Andrews back to the A-League Women’s (ALW) fold in 2025/26.
But, the 31-year-old won’t take the field.
Instead, she’ll support Stephen Hoyle as a second assistant coach.
Her appointment comes as Newcastle prepares to face the Wellington Phoenix at Porirua Park on Sunday 16 November from 4pm.
The Jets opened their account with a 2-1 victory over Canberra United in round one, which was followed up by a bye at the weekend.
Now, Andrews’ return will add to the buoyant mood throughout the squad.
After making 129 appearances for the club over two stints, 2009-2016 and 2017-2023, the striker holds the record for most goals with 45.
And, she’s keen to lend a hand moving forward.
“It feels fantastic to be back in Jets colours,” Andrews said.
