LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Portland neighborhood is gearing up to welcome new residents in a little more than a year, and for businesses in the area, it’s a welcome change.

The area has seen more development in recent years, with projects like Painter’s Row .

Now, developers are working to bring what they’re calling The Liminal Project to life, aiming to boast both affordable apartments and commercial space.

“I think it’s very much so needed,” said Tiernan McClanahan, event operations director at ArtPortal.

ArtPortal has become a hub for art, music and events, but McClanahan said more foot traffic always helps, and she saw it firsthand when Painter’s Row opened last year.
