CENTRAL/NORTHERN MAINE -- As the landscape of the race for Congressional District 2 continues to evolve, another democratic candidate could be emerging, current gubernatorial candidate and former Maine State Senate President Troy Jackson.
Since Jared Golden announced that he would not seek re-election, we've already seen Jordan Wood defect from the Senate race to the CD 2 race. Jackson says he's fielded numerous inquiries about whether he'd consider a run for CD2, though he has not made a decision yet.
Jackson said in a statement, "I'm really flattered by everyone reaching out, and I get why. I've won multiple times in a district that voted for Trump by talking directly to rural working-class voters from across the political spectrum about how to make Maine more affordable for them. Paul
