FORT WORTH, Texas — Parents and teachers pressed the Texas Education Agency for answers Thursday night as the state moves toward a full takeover of Fort Worth ISD .
The community forum was led by Deputy Commissioner Steve Lecholop, who took questions for more than an hour. The meeting was the second and final community forum the TEA scheduled before assuming control of the district.
Lecholop told the audience the agency intends to choose leaders who reflect the city.
“Our north star is to try to appoint a board that represents the Fort Worth community," Lechelop said.
