OMAHA, Neb. —
Book fanatics, get ready because we now know the opening date of the Omaha Central Library!
Mayor John Ewing Jr. said it will be open on April 19, 2026.

Construction of the building near 72nd and Dodge streets is finished.
Now staff will spend the next months moving books and technology into the library.
"This building isn't just a new library. It's the heart of a systemwide transformation that will touch every branch and every neighborhood," said Laura Marlane.
