Due to icy winds coming from the north, the cold has increased in the plains. A cold wave will prevail in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh for the next 2 days. Meanwhile, mercury has dropped below 10°c in many districts of Rajasthan, Himachal, Chhattisgarh, and Punjab.
Here, the mercury in Badrinath Dham, Uttarakhand, has dropped to minus 16°c, causing waterfalls and lakes to freeze there. In Himachal's Lahaul Spiti, Tabo has dropped to -7.4°c, Kukumseri to -3.1°c, Keylong to -3.3°c, and Kalpa to -0.4°c.
