TARRANT, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Bringing transparency back to city hall is one of the goals of Tarrant’s new mayor. WBRC sat down with Mayor Tracie Threadford Thursday to ask about some of the major issues facing the city.
Just a few days into the job, Threadford is trying to get a handle on some of the issues facing the city. A big one is finances. She says right now, they can make payroll.
WBRC asked Threadford: “Is the city broke?”
“No, we’re not broke. We’re not broke. There are issues, but we’re not broke,” Threadford said.
For years, drama has played out between previous Mayor Wayman Newton and city council. Some residents feel that back and forth led to nothing ever getting accomplished in Tarrant.
Threadford hopes to change the city’s image.
“I’m not going to yell back and forth.
