NSW's Regional Transport and Roads Minister has come out swinging against her federal colleagues, saying state Labor will not support an overhaul of country road speed limit reductions.
Cutting unmarked country road limits from 100 kilometres an hour to 80km/h was recommended in a National Road Safety Action Plan released by the federal Infrastructure Department in September . But on November 13, Jenny Aitchison told NSW Parliament that there were no plans for NSW to follow in recommending speed restrictions.
"Let me be very clear, the government does not support blanket speed zone reviews across NSW," she said.
