A 23-year-old Dauphin County man was charged with multiple felonies Wednesday after police said he sold cocaine to a woman, leading to her death.

Around 9:30 a.m. on July 4, East Pennsboro police were dispatched to the 300 block of West Shady Lane, Enola, for a cardiac emergency.

First responders found Julie Dreibelbis in cardiac arrest and transported her to UPMC West Shore. Dreibelbis died on July 7 after spending days on life support.

An autopsy determined her cause of death was acute cocaine toxicity.

Police then interviewed Dreibelbis’ family and searched her home, finding multiple syringes in the master bedroom and bathroom.

One of Dreibelbis’ daughters told investigators her mother had been buying a white powdery substance from Avelino Cuevas, a man she knew as “Avi.”
