SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Notre Dame football captain Adon Shuler started the Adon Shuler Foundation in May to support youth in his hometown of Irvington, New Jersey.
The foundation has already hosted multiple community events, including a free football camp that served over 500 children and a backpack drive that provided nearly 400 students with school supplies.
Shuler said his upbringing in Irvington shaped his commitment to giving back to the community.
“This is where I grew up. It’s my home. And that’s been dearest to me my whole life. And it’s definitely a place that taught me many, many, many life lessons and helped me to strive and become the man I am today,” Shuler said.
