SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - Students from 6th to 12th grade unveiled a collaborative mural on Thursday night at Saint Mary’s College’s Moreau Gallery.
The artwork, titled “Rise Together,” was created in partnership with artist Federico Rodriguez III and celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month.
The project has been underway since mid-October in the gallery’s lobby.
“In this mural, you could see a lot of color, a lot of positivity, a lot of radiance. These girls really want to see what’s best for the world. And in a world where there’s so much negativity, it’s their way of putting positivity back into it,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez was raised on South Bend’s west side and graduated from St. Adalbert School and Saint Joseph High School. He is regarded as a rising star in the arts world.
