Alexa Washington wasn’t sure what her future would hold just a few months ago.

The Florida native came to North Texas ahead of the 2022 season and spent three years playing for Kristee Porter.

Washington had one season left and a choice to make after UNT made a coaching change and brought in Dave Fleming ahead of the 2025 season

“It was a difficult time because I had been in one place my whole career,” Washington said. “There were a lot of possibilities running through my mind.”

Sticking around to play under Fleming was among them. It’s the path Washington chose, and one that has paid off heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

UNT will host Tulane on Friday night before facing Rice on Sunday afternoon in its final tuneup for the conference tournament.
