COLUMBUS, Ohio — Jaloni Cambridge scored 18 points and added eight rebounds as Ohio State rode a 26-0 first-quarter shutout to a 90-33 thumping of Bellarmine Thursday night.
The Knights didn't get on the board until Rachel Shropshire finally sunk a free throw 25 seconds into the second period. It marked the first time ever that OSU (2-0) had held an opponent scoreless through an entire quarter.
Cambridge was one of four Buckeyes to reach double figures, joining starter Chance Gray (14 points) and reserves Dasha Biriuk (15) and Ava Watson (11). Ella Hobbs added 10 rebounds off the bench.
Bellarmine (1-2) went 0 for 17 from the field in the first quarter and struggled to improve much from there, also getting worked on the glass 65-36. Kayce Hyman led the Knights with eight points.
