CARROLLTON— Thanks to a 9-1 start, the Creekview football team walked onto the field at Standridge Stadium as the home team of a playoff game for the first time ever. They drew Frisco Reedy in the bi-district round, a team that finished a misleading third place in District 5-5A Division I.
Creekview’s historic regular season came off the back of a potent offense, using motion to average almost 50 points a game. But as in the wild, the Lions used a pack mentality to hunt down the Mustangs’ offense and stop it in its tracks, advancing to the area round with a 24-3 victory. Until Thursday evening, Creekview had been held under 42 points just twice.
