Police have charged a man following investigations into a fatal traffic crash in Point Vernon this morning, 14 November.
Around 4.30am, emergency services were called to reports a silver Hyundai IX35 hatchback had struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Banksia Street and Esplanade.
It will be alleged that following the crash, the driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old man, failed to remain at the scene and render assistance.
The pedestrian, a 57-year-old Point Vernon man, sustained serious injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The Hyundai was located at a Urraween residence around 5am.
