Minutes before counting began for the Jubilee Hills by-poll, an Independent candidate Mohammed Anwar, 40, died of a suspected heart attack.

He secured three votes in the first round of counting.

Anwar, a resident of Erragadda was reportedly been anxiously

waiting for the counting since morning when he collapsed with severe chest pain. Family members immediately took him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Anwar had contested the bypoll from the Nationalist Congress Party and was allotted a clock as the symbol.
