NC’s Aga Syed Mehmood Leads in Budgam, Tight Contest in Nagrota Vote counting is underway for the two crucial seats Nagrota and Budgam which went to polls on November 11 following vacancies created by political reshuffles and the unfortunate passing of Nagrota MLA Devender Singh Rana.

The contest in Nagrota is between BJP’s Devyani Rana and National Conference’s Shamim Begum, while Budgam features a high-profile battle between NC’s Aga Syed Mehmood and PDP’s Aga Muntazir Mehdi, with Independent candidate Nazir Ahmad Khan also in the race.

Early trends show Aga Syed Mehmood leading by 5117 votes, while Mehdi stands at 528 votes and Nazir Ahmad Khan at 508.
