KENNEWICK, Wash. – Kamiakin High School has been recognized by the Association of Washington School Leaders (AWSL) with the Culture Kick-Off Award.

This award celebrates schools that foster welcoming and inclusive environments and highlights schools that set a positive tone for the year with engaging assemblies, strong school themes and community-building activities.

Kamiakin’s efforts include the Welcome Wagon and LINK Crew’s Freshmen Only Day, along with numerous behind-the-scenes activities to ensure every student feels connected.

Principal Chris Chelin expressed his pride in the school’s achievements.

“This recognition is a reflection of the incredible dedication of our staff and students,” said Chelin.
