The Congress party might have suffered heavy setback in the Bihar assembly elections, but in Telangana, it is heading for a landslide victory in the by-election in the Jubilee Hills assembly constituency in Hyderabad.
At the end of eighth round of counting of votes on Friday, Congress candidate Vallala Naveen Yadav was leading by a margin of 21,495 votes over his nearest rival – Bharat Rashtra Samithi candidate Maganti Sunitha and is all set to wrest the seat from the opposition.
With two more rounds left for counting, the victory of Naveen Yadav has become a certain and it is going to be the biggest-ever margin registered by any political party in Jubilee Hills till date.
Maganti Sunitha is wife of late MLA Maganti Gopinath, whose sudden death in June last necessitated the by-election.
