Despite rumours of Ford axing the F-150 Lightning, evidence unearthed by CarExpert suggests the full-size electric pickup could live on for a second generation.

Information posted on LinkedIn reveals several Ford employees, working out of the company's headquarters in Michigan, are currently working on a 'Gen 2 F-150 Lightning'.

The Lightning is expected to join the next-generation F-150 range, slated for release in late 2027 or 2028 – alongside new Super Duty models for the North American market, according to projects listed by Ford employees.
